Institutions The University of Wales is the national University for the principality of Wales and its the second largest residential university in the United Kingdom. Bangor is the northernmost campus of the University and has been established for more than 100 years. The campus is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, bordered by the Menai Strait and the Snowdonia National Park. The School of Accounting, Banking and Economics (SABE) at Bangor has an International reputation as one of Europe major university schools of banking and financial studies. The School has an outstanding record of close cooperation and sponsorship with the UK largest financial institutions and the Chartered Institute of Bankers. SABE also houses the Institute of European Finance ; a major European research facility in banking and financial systems. The Institute for Financial Management is a Company Limited by Guarantee established by the two partner Universities to manage and develop the joint venture MBA.
